Angel & Davos’ Surprise Proposal at a Candlelight Concert in Las Vegas
If you're planning a surprise proposal in Las Vegas and want to do something a little different, Angel and Davos' proposal is one you're going to want to see! Between the hundreds of candles, a live orchestra, and a whole lot of behind-the-scenes planning, this was such a special moment to be part of. But what made it even better? Angel had absolutely no idea what was coming. And considering how much coordination went into pulling this off, I'm pretty proud of that!
A Surprise Proposal in Las Vegas That Was Over a Month in the Making
Davos and I spent over a month coordinating with each other and the Candlelight Concert team to make sure everything went exactly how we envisioned. We knew we wanted to create something really personal for Angel, and music was the perfect way to do that. Angel played violin for years growing up, and since they're both in the music and dance industry, music has always been a huge part of their relationship. So proposing during a Candlelight Concert at The Industrial Event Space in Las Vegas? It just made sense.
Of course, the biggest priority was keeping everything a surprise. We had to come up with a plan that felt believable enough that Angel wouldn't suspect a thing, which meant I had to put my acting skills to work (and honestly, I think I deserve an award for this one lol). When the moment finally came, the orchestra returned to play their favorite song, "Human Nature" by Michael Jackson, and Davos got down on one knee. Angel's reaction was EVERYTHING. The surprise, the happy tears, the excitement afterward... it was exactly the kind of genuine moment I love getting to capture.

Why Having a Photographer Involved in Your Proposal Planning Makes All the Difference
Here's something I wish more people knew about planning a proposal: your photographer can be so much more than someone who just shows up with a camera. I'm always happy to help coordinate, figure out the logistics, and come up with a plan that makes the whole experience feel natural. Especially when you're trying to keep something this big a secret! With Angel and Davos, that meant communicating for weeks, making sure everyone was on the same page, and being ready to go with the flow if anything changed. Because as much as we can plan every little detail, sometimes you just have to think on your feet. And trust me, I've got you.
And while we're talking about proposals, can I share one of my biggest tips? Stay down on one knee a little longer than you think you need to! Seriously, don't rush it. Take a moment to say what's on your heart, put the ring on their finger while you're still kneeling, and then stand up to celebrate together. This gives me time to capture the actual proposal from multiple angles, which is usually the moment couples want the most photos of. It's such a small detail, but it makes a huge difference in your final gallery!
