If you’ve ever wondered what a Las Vegas elopement with kids actually looks like in real life… this is it. And honestly? It’s even better than you’d expect. Skye and Josh’s day completely flipped the script on what people think a Vegas elopement “should” be. No ditching the kids, no overly structured timeline, no trying to make it something it’s not. Just them, their boys, and a day that felt really, really true to their life right now, chaotic in the best way, full of love, and way more meaningful because their kids were right there in it!
Why This Las Vegas Elopement with Kids Just Made Sense
Originally, Skye and Josh had a totally different plan. They were going to bring friends along to watch their boys during the ceremony so they could have a more “traditional” moment alone. But somewhere along the way, they paused and were like… wait, why are we doing that?
Because when it came down to it, this wasn’t just about them getting married, it was about their family. And their boys are such a huge part of that. So instead of trying to separate the two, they leaned all the way in and decided to keep things intimate. Just the four of them, present for every second of it. And you could feel that shift immediately. The ceremony didn’t feel like a performance or something they had to get through. It felt real. It felt grounded. It felt like a moment their kids will actually remember, not something they were left out of!
What It’s Actually Like to Plan a Las Vegas Elopement with Kids
Okay, let’s be real for a second, bringing kids to a Vegas elopement does come with a little extra navigating. It’s not quite the same as running around solo hitting every bar, casino, and late-night spot you can think of. There were definitely a few things we had to skip. No casino photos, no popping into bars, and a little more intention behind where we went and how we moved through the day. But honestly? None of that took away from the experience. If anything, it made it feel more intentional.
We spent the evening running around Downtown and Fremont Street, letting the boys be part of everything. Holding hands, laughing, picking them up mid-photo, letting them just be kids in the middle of it all. And instead of feeling like a limitation, it actually created some of the best moments of the entire day. Like… the tiny suits?! The way they’d cling to their parents? The in-between moments that you literally cannot recreate if they weren’t there? Those are the photos that hit the hardest. Every single time.
The Moments That End Up Meaning the Most
Here’s the thing no one really talks about enough, the “perfect” elopement timeline doesn’t always equal the most meaningful one. Some of my absolute favorite photos from this day weren’t the posed portraits or the perfectly lit spots (even though we got those too). It was the boys running around Fremont, getting scooped up into hugs, standing between their parents during photos, and just existing in the middle of this huge life moment.
Those are the photos that feel like them. Not a curated version of their day, not something they felt like they had to do because it’s what people expect in Vegas, just their real life, documented in the coolest way possible. And as a mom myself, I can’t even explain how special that is to witness. To see parents choose to include their kids instead of working around them? It just hits different!
Let’s Plan Something That Actually Feels Like You!
If you’re dreaming up your own Vegas elopement and trying to figure out what that looks like for your life, kids included or not I’m here for it. Truly. There’s no one-size-fits-all way to do this, and that’s kind of the best part. Whether you want a chaotic, kid-filled Fremont adventure or something a little more low-key and intimate, we’ll build a day that actually fits you. And yes… the tiny suits are always welcome.
